Fire Expo 2011
From 16 – 17 March 2011, over 600 people from the grass roots of the fire industry converged on the Castle Hill RSL for Fire Expo 2011.
The expo, comprising of 25 exhibitors within 33 booths and 14 workshops, was hosted by the FPA Australia NSW State Divisional Committee. “The Committee were extremely happy with the success of the event, and it was fantastic to see the breadth of the industry turn up throughout the two days”, says Garry Kwok, Chairman of the NSW State Divisional Committee.
Fire Expo 2011 major sponsor, Flamestop Australia, took out the exhibitor selected Best Exhibit Award whilst Vesda by Xtralis scooped the pool to take home the Best New Product Award.
The theme this year was Preparing for a New Fire Industry and the subject created plenty of discussion amongst industry attendees. [Mark M to insert a quote about FPA Australia’s Fire Hub workshop as this relates to the theme].

The event also raised over $600 for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. “It was great that so many people put their hands in their pockets throughout the expo to support such a worthwhile New South Wales-based charity.” The cheque will be presented to the foundation by committee member, Garry Aghajani in the coming weeks.
